Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid is likely done for the 2022-23 season. He played in the home finale, a loss to the Miami Heat, on Thursday, but he did not travel with the team for Friday’s win over the Atlanta Hawks.
With the season finale against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday meaning zilch for the Sixers, Embiid will likely sit that out as well ahead of the first-round matchup with the Nets.
Embiid will finish with a scoring average of 33.1 points per game. With the Dallas Mavericks sitting Luka Doncic for the final game of the season, he will finish with a scoring average of 32.4.
The big fella becomes the first center to lead the league in scoring for two straight seasons since Bob McAdoo did it for three straight seasons from 1974-1976.
Luka Dončić will finish the season with 32.4 points per game. Joel Embiid can't finish worse than 32.6.

One has to figure that Embiid will win the MVP in the 2022-23 season. He is the overwhelming favorite for the award and after finishing as the runner-up for two consecutive seasons, the big fella seems primed to finally win one this time around.
