Sixers’ Joel Embiid, James Harden finished season by making history

Philadelphia 76ers teammates Joel Embiid and James Harden made history in the 2022-23 season.

The Philadelphia 76ers wrapped up another 82-game season, finishing off the host Brooklyn Nets on Sunday afternoon. The focus turns to what they hope will be a deep playoff run and hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.

They certainly have a great chance. They are led by the star tandem of Joel Embiid and James Harden, who have built great chemistry and produced amazing seasons.

Embiid led the league in scoring (33.1 ppg) while Harden led the league in assists (10.7). They are the first pair of teammates to win a scoring title and an assist title in the same season since George Gervin and Johnny Moore in the 1981-82 season with the San Antonio Spurs.

Embiid and Harden look to carry this production into the playoffs. The two have been battling injuries as of late with Embiid dealing with calf tightness and Harden with a sore left Achilles, but with the time off they are receiving, the Sixers hope that the two of them will be ready for the postseason.
