The Philadelphia 76ers are 2-0 to start the summer league out in Las Vegas and that is mostly due to the fact that second-year guard Tyrese Maxey has put on some big performances. He had 31 points in Philadelphia’s win over the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday with 21 coming in the second half.
As the Sixers prepare to take on the Boston Celtics on Saturday for their third summer league game, they will have to do so without their star leader.
Maxey is leaving the summer league to go coach a youth camp. The leave was pre-approved by the team as they understand what he wants to do.

The Sixers will now have to rely on fellow second-year players Isaiah Joe and Paul Reed in order to get a win on Saturday. Tip-off from Vegas is set for 5 p.m. EDT from the Cox Pavilion which is the same venue they rallied to beat the Hawks on Thursday.
