The Curry brothers are always showing support for one another when the time calls for it. Whenever Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry goes off, his brother, Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry, makes sure he sends love his way.
On Sunday, it was Steph’s turn to give Seth some love.
Seth had 11 points in the third quarter in Philadelphia’s Game 1 win over the Washington Wizards that had Steph feeling impressed with his brother. Seth made a huge defensive play and then came down on the other end and he drilled a triple to give Philadelphia an 88-81 lead and provide some separation for the Sixers.
Seth is normally the one providing the support for Steph as he went on his playoff runs with the Warriors, but now, it’s the other way around. He also does get some love from brother-in-law Austin Rivers from time to time.
“It’s always cool to get some feedback from those guys,” said Seth. “Similar to last year when they were out, not playing in the bubble when I was playing the bubble. We always watch each other when we’re playing. I’ve been on the other end of that just being in the stands watching him make his playoff runs over the years so no different.”

Another thing that was noticeable in Sunday’s win was Curry showing off a lot of emotion. He is normally stoic, but he let out a yell and some screams during the run in the third quarter.
“That’s the kind of mentality you have to bring in the playoffs,” he explained. “Everybody turns it up a notch. Just the competitive spirit is obviously a lot different than the regular season and it’s just fun having the fans in the crowd in the arena again.”
It did help that there were up over 11,000 fans on the building at Wells Fargo Center. The passion of the Philadelphia fans can provide a big difference for the Sixers especially in a season where they could not have many fans in the building due to the restrictions of the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“That home-court advantage is huge for us and we got to play with that intensity throughout the game to get playoff wins,” said Curry. “It’s tough in the playoffs and everything’s ramped up a notch so got to embrace that and just have fun with it.”
