Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry has had an up-and-down go at it to begin his career in the City of Brotherly Love, but it’s all a work in progress at this point for him. The veteran out of Duke had 25 points in Wednesday’s win over the Houston Rockets and he did so while dealing with an injury.
Curry left the game early in the first as he was grabbing at his hand. When he came back, he showed that he felt just fine shooting 8-for-13 from the floor and he knocked down three from deep.
After the game, he gave an update on how it feels and where he is at with it moving forward.
“It’s just a little sore,” he said. “I think I’ll be alright.”
Curry is also dealing with a recovery from COVID. He tested positive for the virus on Jan. 7 and he returned on Jan. 22, but it has been up and down for him. There are games where he looks like his old self and then there are other games where he doesn’t. Just like his fit with the Sixers, that is all a work in progress.
“I’m still working through it,” he explained. “I’m still getting my rhythm back, still getting my wind and my lungs, and in shape again. I’m still a work in progress. I got to use the games to do it. I’ve kind of been up and down.”
It is important for him to continue to get his wind back. The Sixers need him to be at his best to knock down shots as it is so important to the success of their offense moving forward.
