Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry is one of the elite shooters in the NBA as he is a career 44.4% shooter from deep and is shooting 44.3% from deep to begin the 2021-22 season. All of that is impressive and he is a big part of Philadelphia’s success on the offensive end.
Even with those types of numbers, there will be times when he will go through slumps with his shooting. Everybody goes through them in this league and it is on the players to be able to get back on track again.
Curry shot just 1-for-8 from the floor in Tuesday’s loss to the Utah Jazz and he was able to bounce back on Thursday by going for 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting. He did shoot 2-for-8 from deep in the win over the Denver Nuggets, but those ups and downs come in an NBA season.
“Just stick to the same routine,” said Curry. “I honestly don’t try to get out of it. I know this is a long season. At the end of the day, everything’s going to even out to where you should be and where you’re at I feel like so I don’t think about it when I’m missing shots, I’m making shots. Just keep trying to make the right play and not try to force it.”
The good thing is, Curry has been able to give to the team in other areas when he is going through a slump with his shooting. He had six rebounds and five assists on Thursday and he is averaging 4.4 assists over his last five games.
“You wanna play well, but if you’re getting the attention of the defense, just move the ball and trust your teammates,” Curry added. “Like I said, at the end of the day, I feel like, during the course of 82 games, everything’s going even out. You’re gonna have highs, you’re gonna have lows.”
