Sixers guard Isaiah Joe wants to be the best shooter on the court

Philadelphia 76ers guard Isaiah Joe wants to be the best shooter on the court every time out.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Isaiah Joe in the second round of the 2020 NBA draft due to his ability to shoot the lights out. He has a smooth stroke from deep and he shot 37.8% from deep in his two seasons at Arkansas.

In his first season with the Sixers, he shot 36.8% from deep and when Philadelphia was hit hard with the league’s health and safety protocols, he shot 43.6% from deep across five games where he averaged 28.9 minutes per game.

As he enters his second season in the league, Joe wants to prove he can shoot the ball in even more efficiently. He also wants to show off the new playmaking skills that he was able to come up with in the offseason and he showed off a bit in the summer league.

“I’m always focused on my shot,” said Joe. “I strive to be the best shooter on the court at all times. Also, in this offseason, I’ve worked on my ball-handling, my playmaking, continuing to work on my body and my build, and my defense. I tried to showcase a lot during the summer league and so we’re going to continue this journey and continue to get better.”

Joe was able to show off an impressive skillset out in Las Vegas and after leaving early with an ankle injury, the young guard is ready to go for this upcoming season.

“I’m doing great,” he beamed. “I’m back to 100%. It was nothing but a sprain so after the summer league was over, I did rehab on it and got back real quickly.”

The Sixers will continue training camp this week and they will play their first preseason game on Monday against the Toronto Raptors up in Canada.
