The Philadelphia 76ers took their first real injury hit of the season on Sunday when they lost important bench shooter Furkan Korkmaz in the fourth quarter when he limped off the floor. It was clear that something was wrong with the third-year guard from Turkey and Monday proved those worrisome thoughts were right.
A team official confirmed that Korkmaz has suffered a left adductor strain and he is out for the time being. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks and until he can return, the Sixers will have to rely on others to fill his void.
Korkmaz was shooting 36.4% from beyond the arc off Philadelphia’s bench through the first two games of the season before he went 0-for-5 from deep in Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers.
Team official confirms. Furkan Korkmaz has suffered a left adductor strain and he will be reevaluated in approximately 2 weeks. That’s a tough loss for Philly as they rely on his shooting off the bench. #Sixers

The Sixers will now have to turn to the likes of rookie Tyrese Maxey to take on more responsibility and this could open the door for Matisse Thybulle to earn some minutes and have a chance to crack the rotation. Somebody will have to replace Korkmaz’s production off the bench and this is an opportunity for others to step up.
