Sixers expected to have interest in trading for Wizards star Bradley Beal

The Philadelphia 76ers are interested in acquiring Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal.

The Philadelphia 76ers are dealing with more important issues at the moment, such as figuring out how they are going to keep their heads above water while dealing with so many players sidelined. They have dropped three in a row, and they face the Miami Heat on Tuesday while shorthanded.

On the flip side, the team is still working on chasing a championship led by coach Doc Rivers. The Sixers were 7-1 with a team at full strength with the help of Seth Curry to help space the floor for Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. They found a groove offensively and things were going smoothly.

However, it seemed like the team needed another star to help them in their championship chase, since they have to battle other star-studded teams in the East. There was interest in acquiring disgruntled Houston Rockets star James Harden, but after a lot of rumors between the two teams and Philadelphia not wanting to include Simmons, those chances seem dead. However, there could be another star the Sixers could turn to.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Sixers are expected to have interest in acquiring Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal in their pursuit of a title:

Teams already widely known to have interest in Harden, such as the Nets and Sixers, would unsurprisingly also have interest in Beal, league sources say…Philadelphia, however, remains a threat to acquire anyone if Daryl Morey is willing to give up Ben Simmons. How many draft picks or young players he’d be willing to add with Simmons may be the bigger question.

Beal is a guy who can explode at any moment. The Sixers saw that up close and personal on Jan. 6 when Beal went off for a Wizards franchise record 60 points, keeping Washington in the game with the Sixers. Philadelphia won, but Beal singlehandedly kept the Wizards afloat. His fit next to either Simmons or Embiid would be perfect.
