The Philadelphia 76ers were short-handed for Saturday’s contest with the Utah Jazz; they played without starter Tobias Harris. The reliable veteran suffered a knee injury in Thursday’s contest with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Without Harris, the Sixers picked up a 118-117 win over the Jazz. Joel Embiid drilled the game-winning jumper and James Harden produced a monster fourth-quarter performance. The Sixers needed all of it to hold off a pesky Jazz team.
Before the win, coach Doc Rivers gave an update on Harris while admitting he felt some fear when he saw the injury.
“I don’t think it’s serious,” Rivers told reporters. “I mean, it scared the hell out of me. I’ll tell you that because when he went down, I mean, I honestly didn’t think anything good because he was grabbing his knee in that spot, but it was just a knee on knee. So he’ll be fine.”
