The Philadelphia 76ers are led by team president Daryl Morey who has the reputation of a guy who is not afraid to pull the trigger on any big moves to help improve his team. The Sixers are sitting at the top of the East, but there is probably a move to be made with this group to make a serious push for a title.
The deadline is on Thursday and the Sixers have not been in any heavy conversations with teams at the moment, but whether they make a move or not, coach Doc Rivers is happy with the roster that he is in charge of. It’s hard to blame him considering the success the Sixers have had this season.
They are even winning games right now while superstar Joel Embiid is out with an injury.
“I like our team,” said Rivers. “If we make a move, great, if we don’t, we love our team. I don’t get lost in all that stuff. The way I look at it, I’m coaching this team, this team is really good. Obviously, getting Joel back is the most important thing. There’s no move we can make better more than is more important than getting Joel back healthy.”

Still, there is always a move to be made for anybody. The Sixers are a team that will have to go to battle with teams such as the Brooklyn Nets who feature a ton of star power as well as a team like the Milwaukee Bucks who feature the league MVP as well as tough teams like the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat.
There is always a move to be made and whether the Sixers make it in a trade or they wait for the buyout market, they should probably be turning over every rock in order to fully compete with those teams and give their star duo some help.
“It depends on your team and what’s going on,” Rivers added. “I’ve been in situations where it seemed like we were very active and then I’ve been in situations where we haven’t been that active. I don’t feel that there’s a lot of stuff out there with us. Maybe by you guys (the media). Who knows? I don’t pay much attention to that part of it. We’re just doing our job.”
The Sixers will take on the New York Knicks at 8 p.m. EST from Madison Square Garden.
