The Philadelphia 76ers needed a spark. They trailed the New York Knicks at home on Wednesday by 17 in the third quarter and it looked like they would take a disappointing loss on their home floor. Instead, they rallied to earn a 109-104 win to remain undefeated on their home floor.

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid led the charge, but it was the team’s bench who stepped in and made some big plays all over the floor. Mike Scott, for instance, made four big triples during the rally and his defense and energy was a big spark for the team.

Coach Brett Brown had a lot of praise for what the veteran brought to the floor as he stated:

He’s sort of a silent assassin. He doesn’t say much. He keeps what he has inside a lot and he internalizes a lot of things, but he is tough. He really is built for this city. There is a physicality, an edge, that he has and to see him be rewarded for the work he puts in, making some timely threes. I’m very fond of him and I respect him. To see him come out and do what he did; I’m proud of him. He deserves it.

Scott isn’t the most athletic or talented guy out there, but he gives a 100% honest effort and it goes a long way on the floor. He’s a huge part of this team and Wednesday’s game showed that. He’s a respected member of this team. [lawrence-related id=19725,19727,19717]
