The outbreak of coronavirus has everybody in a tough spot right now. Everybody is quarantining inside their homes and nobody knows when this will end. So, in times such as this one, anybody stepping up and providing some help is an admirable thing.
The Philadelphia 76ers have been active in their efforts to help the city of Philadelphia in order to combat this virus. Joel Embiid has stepped up and donated $500,000, managing partners Josh Harris and David Blitzer have opened up their wallets to help others, Ben Simmons started the “Philly Pledge”, and now Al Horford is getting into it.
Horford is matching Embiid’s donation of $500,000 to coronavirus relief efforts in his home country of the Dominican Republic and also all of the regions in the United States where he played basketball. This includes Michigan, Florida, Atlanta, Boston, and Philadelphia.
