The Philadelphia 76ers do have a first-round choice in the 2020 NBA draft in November, but they also have four picks in Round 2. They have obvious needs on their roster and the one that stands out the most is the need for a guy who can knock down open shots.
They can fill that need at picks 21, 34, and 36, but there are always some hidden gems late in Round 2 that can turn into solid players. For example, at pick 49, they can find a guy from Boise State by the name of Justinian Jessup. He shot 39.7% from deep in his senior season to finish up shooting 40.8% from deep for his four seasons in college.
Bryan Kalbrosky of Rookie Wire has released his latest mock draft and has Jessup headed to Philadelphia at 49:
Someone to keep an eye on for the Philadelphia 76ers, if they keep some of their surplus second-round picks: Boise State’s Justinian Jessup.
The 6-foot-7 guard is currently playing overseas, so the Sixers do not have to use a roster spot on him next season. He shot over 40% from 3-point range during his four-year collegiate career, though, showing he likely can step in and help Philly’s 3-point shooting woes.
As mentioned, Jessup is playing overseas so the Sixers do not have to find a roster spot for him for the 2020-21 season. Besides, Philadelphia can still give a roster spot to 2019 Round 2 pick Marial Shayok to see what he can do with a bigger opportunity. [lawrence-related id=38620,38580,38494]
