The Philadelphia 76ers have been lucky enough to have the 21st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft due to the surprising success of the Oklahoma City Thunder. With that pick, they have a lot of options they can go with.

One of those options is to go after a shooter which would help them with their obvious spacing issues. One guy who makes a ton of sense is Villanova sharpshooter Saddiq Bey. He shot 45.1% from deep on 5.6 attempts in his sophomore season with the Wildcats while pulling down 4.7 rebounds and he would be a nice fit next to Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

Over at our sister site, Rookie Wire, they have put together their 2020 NBA Draft Big Board led by Bryan Kalbrosky and Bey comes in at 14 on the board.

Kalbrosky on Bey:

Wing, 6-foot-8, 21 years old

CONSENSUS PROJECTION: Top 20

REPRESENTATION: Excel

If you survey the league, you will find a unanimous result from all thirty general managers: they will agree that their roster could an elite shooter like Saddiq Bey. His best skill is his ability off the catch but he also has very good positional size, which will make him a more playable option as a defender on the perimeter as well.

There is a lot that Bey can bring to the table for the Sixers as they are looking for their next 3-and-D player. They do have Matisse Thybulle, but he has yet to really fill in that “3” portion of that aspect. There are plenty of options for Philadelphia to go with and it will be up to general manager Elton Brand and his staff to make it all work. [lawrence-related id=37846,37834,37825]
