Sixers 2019-20 season rewind: Furkan Korkmaz drops 34 on Grizzlies

We take a look back at the 2019-20 season by highlighting Furkan Korkmaz’s big night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

With the 2020-21 season officially set to begin on Dec. 22, most fans of the Philadelphia 76ers would likely want to forget about a disappointing 2019-20 season. However, there were still some moments from last season that deserve a final look back.

One of them was a game in February with the Sixers still looking to find a shooter. They really needed somebody to step up and fill the void left by J.J. Redick’s departure, and that person turned out to be the young Furkan Korkmaz.

Korkmaz hopped off the bench, and he turned in a terrific performance going for a career-high 34 points and he was a walking bucket all night. He was 13-for-17 from the floor overall, but he drilled seven of his nine attempts from deep to lead the Sixers to a 119-107 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Heading into the new season, the Sixers will need Korkmaz to continue to improve as a shooter and an overall player to make sure Philadelphia has the right pieces around stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons.
