National signing day is approaching on Feb. 3. Texas will be attempting to lock in a few more prospects to their rather lackluster 2021 recruiting efforts. Steve Sarkisian has been on the trail since he was announced as the Texas head coach on Jan. 2.
There are plenty of names still on the board for the Longhorns to chase. Some come from Tom Herman’s tenure, while a few others have generated interest because of the staff Sarkisian has put together in Austin. Either way, it’s going to be a busy day for the Longhorns.
As things stand, Texas ranks as the No. 17 overall class in the country and No. 2 in the Big 12 — well below expectations. Sarkisian wasn’t expected to come in and immediately turn around recruiting, but he should be able to attract a couple of names that Herman may not have been able to.
