Should the Ravens re-sign C Bradley Bozeman?

We analyze if the Ravens should re-sign center Bradley Bozeman

The Baltimore Ravens will have plenty of tough decisions to make as their 2022 offseason continues on. They have a plethora of players that are slated to his free agency in about a month, and will have to figure out who they want to keep and who they want to let walk.

One of those pending free agents is center Bradley Bozeman. The former University of Alabama star was a solid player for the team over his first three years in the NFL as a guard, but was moved to center for his fourth season, where he started and played exceptionally. He’s a great fit in what Baltimore does schematically, and he proved to the Ravens and the rest of the NFL that he’s a starting-caliber professional center.

Bozeman’s best season came in a contract year, which is great news for him but not-so great for Baltimore. The center deserves every penny of whatever contract he signs with whichever team he signs it with. However, with the Ravens having limited salary cap space as they look to fill other needs and could have a mega-contract extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson on the way, Bozeman might have priced himself out of the Charm City.

Center is one of the premium positions in football. It’s very hard to find a good, stable option, something which Bozeman provided Baltimore in 2021. The Ravens had other players such as Patrick Mekari and Matt Skura manning the middle of their offensive line for the past few seasons, but before Bozeman they didn’t had a consistent option at center since Ryan Jensen, who left for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency years ago.

Overall, Bozeman is a player that Baltimore should try to find a way to re-sign at all costs, even if the deal that he signs goes a tad out of their price range. He has been a positive force both on the field and in the community, and his loss would be felt on multiple levels within the organization if he were to move on.
