The Panthers came into the 2020 season with a strong wide receiver corps. While only Robby Anderson really balled out Week 1 against the Raiders, this is still one of the deepest and fastest units in the league. It may seem like adding another receiver is a luxury they can’t afford, but when special talents hit the market it’s always worth considering if a deal can be done.
There are unfounded rumors about the Browns shopping Odell Beckham Jr., but we do know that Allen Robinson is not happy with the Bears. He has deleted any reference to Chicago on his Instagram page and reports are that he feels disrespected by the ongoing contract extension talks.
#Bears WR Allen Robinson has removed references to the team from his social media — a reflection of his frustration over the state of talks on a new contract, sources say. No trade request as of now, and Chicago has a history of getting extensions done. Stay tuned. @nflnetwork pic.twitter.com/JKbhKEqYoX

Robinson has always been a gifted playmaker. What’s held him back from becoming a true superstar is atrocious QB play, beginning with Blake Bortles in Jacksonville and continuing with Mitch Trubisky in Chicago.
Despite the horrible passing he’s had to work with, Robinson has managed to post 33 career touchdowns and 4,823 yards. With the right quarterback and offensive coordinator, Robinson could break into the conversation among the top-five wideouts in the NFL.
Robinson just entered the final year of his contract, which will pay him $10,900,000 in base salary for 2020. That’s a bargain and any team looking for a game-changing weapon should be calling the Bears right now.
Teddy Bridgewater isn’t an elite QB, but he’s a definitive upgrade over what Robinson has had to deal with so far in his career. For what it’s worth, adding him to the mix would give the Panthers offense an element that’s not currently there. They still need a true red zone weapon and Robinson would fill that hole nicely. Trading for Robinson would be costly. However, it might just give them the unquestioned top wide receiver corps in football.
