Shohei Ohtani saw his life flash before his eyes after almost getting hit by a foul ball

This was so scary, but his reaction was too funny.

At this stage of his career, few things in MLB baseball could likely scare Shohei Ohtani. The Los Angeles Angel is a titan among men, the best baseball player in the world who makes the extraordinary look ordinary.

But no one is immune to the dangers of a foul ball. Even Ohtani understands this fact.

During the Angels’ 6-4 loss to the Washington Nationals on Monday night, Washington’s Jeimer Candelario ripped a foul ball … right into the Angels’ dugout. The ball seemingly almost hit Ohtani, who understandably reacted with fear, as captured in a replay.

Ohtani’s reaction — one of bewilderment after the near-miss — was so relatable.

It goes to show that even when you can mash effortless dingers, a foul ball will still catch you off guard. Even the best player on the planet understands the random chaos baseball can sometimes provide.
