Shocking images of Oak Fire burning outside Yosemite National Park

The wildfire has burned over 14,000 acres and is forcing evacuations in the area.

Northern California’s Mariposa County has been on high alert as the Oak Fire that has torched some 14,000-plus acres continues its path of destruction.

Hot, dry conditions have made battling the blaze extremely difficult for firefighters, with 0% contained as the frontlines now creep closer to homes surrounding Yosemite National park.

According to Cal Fire, 11 crews consisting of more than 400 personnel plus 45 fire engines and four helicopters have been sent into the Sierra Nevada regions to stop the fiery surge.

And the images captured of the efforts to extinguish the Oak Fire have been nothing short of otherworldly, each as eye-opening and heartbreaking as the next.
