#Jets DT Sheldon Rankins suffered a dislocated elbow Sunday vs. Buffalo, per sources. He could miss up to 4-6 weeks, depending on the healing process. The upcoming bye week will help.

Rankins left the game during the first quarter and headed back to get x-rays. He was quietly having a very nice year for the Jets. He has 25 tackles and two sacks this season.
The silver lining is the Jets have their bye week coming up, so Rankins may not miss as many games. How quickly his elbow heals will determine how soon Rankins can rejoin the lineup.
This couls make Rankins a candidate for injured reserve if he is going to be out at least four weeks, however, head coach Robert Saleh is considering him “week-to-week” and won’t decide on injured reserve until after the bye week.
The Jets have Nathan Shepherd and Solomon Thomas behind Quinnen Williams and also have Jonathan Marshall and Tanzel Smart on the practice squad and John Franklin-Myers and Micheal Clemons can also play inside, if needed.
In Week 9, Williams played 46/62 snaps, Thomas played 27 snaps and Shepherd played 23. Rankins played ten before the injury.
