For the second week in a row, Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson is being honored by the Big Ten.

The senior QB had a breakout performance two weeks ago when the Wolverines hosted rival Michigan State, throwing for 384 yards and four touchdowns, his best game in a Michigan uniform. How did he follow that up? By doing essentially the same thing, this time on the road.

The expectation was that it would be a tough game at Indiana, as the then 7-3 Hoosiers had a better team than they have in ages, and have regardless played Michigan tough throughout the years. IU came into the game with a stellar pass defense that had given up a maximum of 300 yards in a loss at MSU earlier in the season. Even the Buckeyes of Ohio State only put up 214 passing yards in a 51-10 rout in Week Three.

But Patterson came in and threw on Indiana like there was no one defending, completing 20-of-32 passes for 366 yards and 5 touchdowns, three to star wideout Nico Collins.

Thus, the Big Ten honored Patterson by naming him co-offensive player of the week.

That’s the good news. The bad news? He shares the honors with OSU running back J.K. Dobbins. That’s compounded by the fact that Buckeyes star DE Chase Young is in sole possession of this week’s Big Ten defensive player of the week.

Michigan and Ohio State will face off on Saturday, November 30 at The Big House at noon EST. The Game will be nationally televised on FOX.
