Sharlize Palacios with monster weekend for UCLA Softball

What a run for Sharlize Palacios.

It was a great weekend for UCLA Bruins softball, capped off by the long ball from Sharlize Palacios.   Palacios hit three total home runs this weekend over Grand Canyon. She now has 18 on the season and leads the Pac-12 Conference.

Palacios mentioned after the game they want to keep their focus and the mentality that garnered them the 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament:

“We were just focusing on coming out, and there was kind of a killer mentality,” Palacios said. “We had to go out, make a statement, and do it for the team. That started with Maya. Maya took the dose, but she took it like a dog. And then Jadelyn came up with a bunt, and we just showed that we were ready to play.”

The Chula Vista native is a redshirt senior catcher is a four-time all-Pac-12 honoree. She garnered first team this season. She was named to the Pac-12 all-freshman team in 2021.

Before her time at UCLA, she started 129 of 144 games in three seasons with Arizona.
