Shaq surprises man in a jewelry store by paying off his engagement ring

“Whenever I leave the house I just try to do a good deed.”

Lakers legend and NBA on TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neal went viral on social media after a video surfaced of the four-time champion paying for the engagement ring of a stranger he game across in a jewelry store.

Shaq told the backstory on TNT, and said that whenever he leaves his house, he’s just trying to do good deeds and to make people smile.

“I was in Zales looking for some loop earrings…. I seen the guy come in and he was just so shy. He was saying ‘hey, how much do I owe to pay of my ring?’ And it was just, I was like ‘my man, how much is the ring?’

…. This is something I do every day. The other day, me and my mom went furniture shopping and this lady, she had an autistic daughter. And she was also looking to pay for some furniture, I just took care of her. I’m into making people happy. So whenever I leave the house I just try to do a good deed. I didn’t mean for that to get out, because I don’t do it for that.”
