Shannon Sharpe: Steph Curry can’t be ranked behind Kevin Durant if Warriors win title

Shannon Sharpe argues that if the Warriors go on to win a title, Kevin Durant’s legacy will take a hit.

With the Brooklyn Nets watching the playoffs unfold from home following their first-round exit at the hands of the Celtics, Shannon Sharpe says a particular result would have an impact on Kevin Durant‘s all-time ranking among the best players in NBA history.

The Golden State Warriors took a 1-0 series lead on the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, and are now seven wins away from what would be a fourth NBA championship in the last eight seasons.

Durant won two rings with the Warriors and made three Finals appearances, but if Golden State goes on to win the title, Sharpe argues that Steph Curry will have to be ranked ahead of Durant.

“All I know is in two years in Brooklyn, he’s won one playoff series. Now here’s Steph Curry in the Western Conference finals…. Steph Curry wins another title, I don’t see how Kevin Durant can ever be ranked ahead of Steph Curry. He has four, he would have gotten two without Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant would have gotten none without him.”
