We are under two weeks away until the start of the 2023 college football season for the North Carolina Tar Heels as they open Week 1 in Charlotte against South Carolina.
While both teams are dealing with some injuries as well as the Tar Heel awaiting the decision for wide receiver Devontez Walker, South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer provided a key update on the injury front.
Beamer met the media on Tuesday and told reporters that Trey Knox, Juice Wells, and Nyck Harbor are all on track to play. The head coach revealed that all three keep telling him they want to play and are on track to do so against the Tar Heels:
Shane Beamer says the following players would be listed as 'questionable' on the injury report for UNC …
Trey Knox, Nyck Harbor, Juice Wells
‘They all tell me they’re playing and they’re all on track to play as well.’

Wells transferred to South Carolina out of the FCS and made an immediate impact for the offense. If he can’t play in Week 1, it would take away Spencer Rattler’s top target.
Harbor is a highly-touted five-star wide receiver that is a true freshman for the Gamecocks as the program has high hopes for him. Knox joined South Carolina after playing for Arkansas. All three returning would be big news for the Gamecocks and quarterback Spencer Rattler.
