The Brooklyn Nets have some important decisions to make this offseason ranging from what they are going to do in the draft to what players are coming to training camp. One influence on what Brooklyn could do this summer is what a trade for Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard looks like.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, a trade between the Nets and the Trail Blazers involving Lillard would probably be centered around Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris and an undisclosed number of first-round picks. It is not clear whether Portland plans to undergo a full rebuild or try to put as much around Lillard as possible for the team to be as competitive.
There have been recent reports that Brooklyn has interest in acquiring Lillard, and that Lillard wouldn’t be opposed to being traded to the Nets if it happened. Portland owns the third pick in the 2023 NBA draft, so it will be interesting to see what it chooses to do with that pick.
Shams on a Nets deal for Damian Lillard. It "probably centers around the expiring deals of Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris. That’s before hoping to pry as many of those future first-round picks Brooklyn has from Philadelphia, Phoenix and Dallas." https://t.co/yLVgwPkcY2
