Former North Carolina Tar Heels point guard Seventh Woods will continue his professional basketball career overseas.
After five seasons in college basketball, the point guard is heading to Irleand to play for the UCC Demons of the Super League. Woods agreed to the deal over the Summer and scored 11 points in his opening game already.
The former internet sensation committed to North Carolina and won a national championship as a freshman. He spent three seasons at UNC before transferring out to South Carolina. From there, he spent a year with the Gamecocks before transferring to Morgan State for his final season.
The Demons know they could have something special in Woods as well.
“When we saw him on the court, we said ‘he really is something special,’” says O’Mahony. “It’s his speed, his athleticism. He definitely makes us better because he’s competitiveness is infectious.”
His arrival represents a dramatic change in fortunes for a club who had to withdraw from men’s league in 2019 when they couldn’t field a team.
Woods averaged 2.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in his college career.
