Seth Curry not concerned with Bucks sweeping Sixers, won’t matter in playoffs

Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry is not worried about being swept by the Milwaukee Bucks for a potential playoff series.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a tough weekend on the road where they took two pretty lopsided losses to the Milwaukee Bucks. In Thursday’s loss they trailed by as many as 21, and on Saturday they trailed by as many as 41.

The Sixers were short-handed in both games. They were without Ben Simmons for both and did not have Joel Embiid on Saturday. The Bucks did not see a Sixers squad at full strength all season while winning all three games in the series. As a result, guard Seth Curry is not too concerned about the sweep. He has been in this situation before with the Portland Trail Blazers.

“No, not at all,” said Curry. “A couple years ago, in Portland, we got swept I think four times by OKC and we beat them in five in the first round of the playoffs. It’s a completely different game called playoff time. I won’t say it means nothing, but it don’t mean much.”

The Sixers are the No. 2 seed, one game behind the Brooklyn Nets. The Sixers are a 1 1/2 games ahead of the Bucks. Philadelphia and Milwaukee are a potential second-round matchup if the East standings finish as they are.

Of course, that will not matter if the Sixers are not healthy. They have to have Simmons, Embiid and the rest of the roster healthy and ready for the postseason.

“We gotta control what we can control,” said Curry. “We can’t be concerned about it. We gotta get on the floor and play better than we played the last few games. If guys are unable to play, they’re unable to play. We gotta be out there on the floor and be ready to go.”

The Sixers will take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Monday looking to snap a four-game skid.
