Seth Curry excited to help Joel Embiid on the offensive end of the floor

Philadelphia 76ers guard Seth Curry is excited to help Joel Embiid on the offensive end of the floor.

The Philadelphia 76ers have made a couple of moves in recent weeks that, on paper, put them in a better position to win now than last season. Obviously, the work still needs to be done, but the roster around stars Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid is much better than it was when their season ended in August.

One of the bigger acquisitions was Seth Curry. The team needed a way to space the floor for the two stars to operate and Curry is going to be a huge factor in making life easier on the offensive end of the floor.

While Curry will certainly make it easier for Simmons to drive and kick out to a legitimate shooter, he will also be able to help Embiid as well.

Embiid worked the two-man game with JJ Redick in the past very well and there could be some replication with Curry. The career 44.3% shooter from deep can also score in plenty of different ways that could enhance that two-man game.

“I’ve watched different players throughout the league,” said Curry. “I know they did a lot of dribble hand-offs and elbow actions, stuff like that. I score in a little bit of a different way than JJ as far as putting it on the floor a little bit more. Obviously, we can both shoot the ball, but whatever Joel is comfortable with I’m trying to come in and make life easier for him and Ben.”

Due to Curry’s versatility, there is nothing that he cannot handle. He is ready to thrive in whatever role the Sixers throw him in and it is due to the fact that he can adapt his game to whatever situation is thrown at him.

“I feel like my game can adapt in a lot of different ways,” he explained. “That’s why I’ve been able to have a successful career thus far just doing a lot of different things on the offensive side of the floor. Whatever situation that Doc (Rivers) and the team puts me in, I feel like I can thrive in it so I’m ready to go.”

The lack of chemistry was a big thing with the 2019-20 Sixers and that is a word that will surround this Sixers team again. In order for Curry to thrive with Embiid in either the pick-and-roll or the dribble hand-off game, they will need the necessary playing time.

“Make plays without the ball, with the ball, just bring a different element to that team,” Curry added. “I’m excited about it and I feel like we got better as a team overall. We still got a lot of room to improve roster wise and fit wise and create a whole new team and new coaching staff. We’re going to hit the ground running and know each other fast.” [lawrence-related id=39490,39486,39478]
