Xbox has just announced that Serious Sam 4 is now available on Xbox Series X/S for all Game Pass subscribers. It’s also on PS5 and you can buy it via the Microsoft Store if you’re not subbed to Game Pass, but the main appeal here is obviously for people who can now play the game free of charge.
This is especially pertinent when you consider that a whopping 12 other games have already been confirmed for Microsoft’s subscription service in December alone, some of which have already been added to the library. The full list for this month – including those already available to install – is as follows:
- Anvil (console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Archvale (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Final Fantasy XIII-2 (console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Lawn Mowing Simulator (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Rubber Bandits (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Stardew Valley (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 2
- Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 7
- Serious Sam 4 (console/PC) – Dec. 7
- Halo Infinite (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 8
- One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 9
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite (cloud/console/PC) – Dec. 14
- Among Us (console) – Dec. 14
Obviously, the biggest name here is still Halo Infinite, which is finally set to join the service in full tomorrow. While the multiplayer component has been available for several weeks now, a Halo game will never be truly memorable without a fight worth finishing.

Fortunately, Infinite is the best the series has been since Halo 3, which is huge praise when you consider the latter is still revered as one of the best shooters of all time. It’s a shame you can’t repeat story missions, sure, but the fact lots of people wish they could replay them at all is a testament to how well received they’ve been. Meanwhile, Sony is reportedly planning its own subscription service to compete with Game Pass. What this will look like remains to be seen, although it will be tough to match Xbox’s sheer bang for your buck this late in the game – if anything, today’s Serious Sam 4 news only serves to further prove that point.
