The North Carolina Tar Heels’ baseball program will be returning to Durham for the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament at the end of May.
With North Carolina’s three-game sweep of NC State from Thursday-Saturday, the Diamond Heels officially punched their tickets to the tournament to be held at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. And they will be defending their title as well.
North Carolina defeated NC State in the 2022 ACC Baseball Tournament to claim the title as Scott Forbes’ team got hot at the right moment. They are hoping to get hot again this year at the right time and that may have jumpstarted this weekend.

After falling behind 5-0 in the first inning of Thursday’s opener, UNC rallied for a walk-off win in Game 1.
They then followed it up with two convincing wins over the Wolfpack at home to puncht the ticket to the tournament. It was arguably the best UNC has looked all season long and might be coming at the right time.
The 2023 ACC Tournament will feature the top 12 teams in each conference and will take place from May 23-28 in Durham.
