Oh boy. IT HAS BEGUN.
Friday at the Ryder Cup started with Sergio Garcia and Jon Rahm defeating Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth 3&1.
Garcia — who came into Whistling Straits with an unreal 22-12-7 record in his nine previous Ryder Cup appearances — sank a long putt on No. 15 for birdie, which led to lots of boos from the home crowd filled with United States supporters.
Instead of shushing them — which is so last decade — Garcia pumped his fist, gave some love to his teammate Rahm, and then blew a kiss to the crowd.
That’s what we love about the Ryder Cup. We’ll see if any American responds in kind this weekend.
