Serena Williams put together an absolutely dizzying display of defense during a point in the fourth round against Aryna Sabalenka at the Australian Open at Melbourne Park in Melbourne, Australia.
With Williams, the No. 10 tennis player in the tournament, leading 5-4 in the first set against seventh-seeded Sabalenka, Williams managed to put up a 45-0 lead in the game by playing an insanely athletic point of defense. She was running the width of the court and diving for ball, which forced Sabalenka to hit kill shot after kill shot. Eventually, Sabalenka simply made a mistake, hitting the ball into the net on an overhead volley.
Here’s a look.
