The Vikings gave the franchise tag to Anthony Harris this season, so now the team has a decision to make.
Harris is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March. Despite a down year in 2020, Harris could be looking at a big day.
Pro Football Focus is still giving plenty of respect to Harris. The outlet tabbed him as the seventh best free agent in this year’s class. Here is what it said about the Minnesota safety:
“He has been a perfect free safety within Mike Zimmer’s defense, which employs a lot of split-safety looks and has been particularly adept at making plays on the football, with coverage being by far his biggest asset. Harris has shown the ability to read route concepts and quarterbacks at the same time, putting himself in position to make plays. He should be primed for a big deal.”
Minnesota linebacker Eric Wilson was not on the list, which makes sense considering it was compiled by Pro Football Focus. Despite Wilson’s three picks, three sacks and eight passes defended, he had a PFF grade of 53.5. Some of that can be contributed to his missed tackles and poor run defense.
