After over two decades on ESPN Radio, Mike Golic said goodbye the radio airwaves on Friday.
It was also the final Wingo and Golic, and the legendary host was surrounded by his wife and kids — wearing t-shirts that read “a true pro” — including Mike Golic Jr., who has starred on the air with him. And it was an incredibly emotional final few minutes.
Golic Jr. tearfully broke down as he told Golic, “For us, it’s a little different and a little happier, because even after we turn off mics, you still get to be our dad. And I think that’s the part that through all of it … when we grew up, it was such a big thing. Mike & Mike became this big phenomenon and there was so much that came along with that. You always made sure it was about us.”

Here are Golic Sr.’s final words on the show:
“All the guests and all the people we mentioned, everybody was so important. But there’s nobody as important than who is sitting right here on the set with me right now. Thank you all.”
