We got one of our first marquee matchups of the young college basketball on Tuesday night when Kansas squared off against Kentucky in the State Farm Champions Classic.
The No. 7 ranked Jayhawks trailed the No. 20 ranked Wildcats for much of the first half, looking anemic on offense in a game that was a lot of physicality and effort and, to be blunt, not a lot of skill. (The players are clearly still finding their jump shots.)
Then, in the second half, Jalen Wilson took over.
The forward scored 21 of his 23 points on the night in the second half, a dominant display that gave the Jayhawks a lead they maintained, hanging on for a 3-point win. Wilson also added ten rebounds on the night.
