Second Consecutive Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Game Postponed

The Notre Dame women’s basketball team can’t catch a break these days.

The Notre Dame women’s basketball team can’t catch a break these days. Usually, that statement would be related to bad luck with injuries or a string of tough opponents on the schedule. This time, there is a tough opponent called COVID-19, and the continued protocols from the recent positive tests have resulted in the postponement of Thursday’s game against Syracuse. These tests already wiped out Monday’s game at NC State.

This announcement came during what already was a rough day for Notre Dame basketball. The men had Wednesday’s game against Clemson wiped out after it was announced that that program had a positive test. It is not yet known whether a new opponent will be scheduled, and it’s fair to question if it’s even possible to pack up a different team and ship it to South Bend with so little time. What is known is that this was a Presidents’ Day that the athletic department won’t want to remember anytime soon.
