Aggies Wire would like to briefly interrupt your regularly scheduled football coverage to give Texas A&M men’s basketball some attention. On Thursday, the SEC revealed the Aggies’ 2024 conference schedule of home and road opponents.
Unlike last season, when the Maroon and White rebounded from a sluggish start to compile a miraculous run to reach the NCAA Tournament, Texas A&M enters the new season on most radars. As head coach Buzz Williams echoed in the offseason, it’s no longer about reaching the SEC title game or making March Madness; it’s about making a deep run and potentially winning the whole thing.
Before they finish, they’ll need to make their way through their regular season slate of opponents, which got a bit clearer after Thursday afternoon.
As revealed by the SEC, Texas A&M will open conference play with a home matchup against LSU on Jan. 6. Their subsequent home games at Reed Arena include Kentucky (Jan. 13), Missouri (Jan. 23), Ole Miss (Jan. 27), Florida (Feb. 3), Tennessee (Feb. 10), Arkansas (Feb. 20), South Carolina (Feb. 28) and Mississippi State (March 6).
The Aggies will first head on the road against Auburn (Jan. 9), followed by Arkansas (Jan. 16), LSU (Jan. 20), Missouri (Feb. 7), Vanderbilt (Feb. 13), Alabama (Feb. 17), Tennessee (Feb.24), Georgia (March 2) and Ole Miss (March 9).
As Texas A&M enters the new season with heightened expectations, they’ll have no shortage of ample competition in their efforts. The Aggies will play at least 15 games against teams that played in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, with seven of those matchups taking place at Reed Arena.

Once the Aggies wrap up their regular season schedule, they will flip the page toward the SEC Tournament. The 2024 competition is scheduled for March 13-17 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. Times and television information for each game will be released later.
