After days of action in Omaha, a national champion is now set to be decided this weekend, as the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies are set to meet in the 2024 Men’s College World Series Finals.
An all-SEC matchup, this three-game series between the Vols and Aggies is also set to continue what has been a stellar recent stretch for the conference in Omaha, as well as extend a notable streak that is still active.
With a national champion now guaranteed to come from the SEC this year, it will mark the fifth consecutive season in which a team from the Southeastern Conference has sat atop college baseball at seasons end. An active streak that dates back to 2019, either the Volunteers or Aggies will join LSU (2023), Ole Miss (2022), Mississippi State (2021), and Vanderbilt (2019) (No postseason in 2020).
In addition to that streak, this will also mark the seventh-straight year that at-least one SEC team is participating in the Men’s College World Series Finals, which dates back to 2017. This is also the fourth time since 2017 that the two teams playing for the national championship are both from the SEC, joining 2017, 2021, and 2023.

Who will now win the SEC’s fifth-straight national championship? Will it be Tennessee or Texas A&M?
