If you weren’t buying into the Jalen Milroe Heisman Trophy talk before, you better now as the Alabama Crimson Tide just took down the No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs in what many considered to be the game of the year.
Since the start of the 2021 season, the Bulldogs have only dropped a staggering three games. All three have come at the hands of the Crimson Tide with Milroe starting two of them. Kirby Smart and the UGA defense have really struggled against Milroe in eight quarters of play as he has accounted for 712 total yards and six touchdowns.
Milroe played a near-perfect game on Saturday completing 81% of his passes. It was far and away the most impressive game he has played as a passer with plenty of NFL scouts taking notice. Sunday morning, even the hosts of NFL Live were talking about Milroe as potentially being the first QB drafted in 2025. He certainly looked more impressive than Carson Beck who has been widely regarded at the top pick.
The SEC named Milroe as the Offensive Player of the Week following the 41-34 victory in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Alongside the SEC, many of the sportsbook in Las Vegas were impressed as Milroe rose in the favorites for the Heisman Trophy.
