SEC QB Rankings, Week 13: How close are Mac Jones and Kyle Trask in the Heisman race?

Looking into the Heisman race that comes down to the SEC Championship Game, and where each SEC quarterback stands ahead of the weekend.

We’re finally nearing the defining moment — the SEC Championship Game between the Florida Gators and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The race for the Heisman Trophy couldn’t be much closer between Kyle Trask and Mac Jones, and how each of them perform in the showdown should give us our final answer on who deserves the honors most (although Devonta Smith, who many know to be a cheat code, is also a good option outside of a quarterback).

In addition to that, here’s a look into how each of the conference’s quarterbacks stack up ahead of Saturday:

1. Kyle Trask, Florida.

You can’t define a player by one game, and a large part of what went awry for Florida. That can be largely placed on the defense and… who throws a shoe, honestly?

Trask finished the night completing 29-of-47 passes for 474 yards with two touchdowns and the two interceptions. He also had a pair of rushing touchdowns.

There were a handful of forced throws and obviously having turnovers within a final stat line isn’t desirable, but one of the turnovers came on a deflection, making it not entirely has fault.

Trask continued to etch his name into the Gators’ history books, surpassing Danny Wuerffel’s single-season touchdown record, setting a new one of 40 on the season.
