SEC Network Takeover to feature 24 hours of Kentucky Wildcats Tuesday

SEC Network’s annual Takeover Days are here, and fans hoping to relive some of the best highlights in Kentucky men’s and women’s athletics over the past year can do so Tuesday, July 2.

It’s the 10th year in a row that SEC Network Takeover devotes 24 hours of programming to each member conference. With Texas and Oklahoma joining the SEC, that means 16 teams now get ‘Takeover’ days across 16 days (June 29-July 14).

Per Kentucky Athletics, here’s the full list of Wildcats team events that will air Tuesday. (all times EDT).

  • 12:00 a.m. – Women’s Basketball vs. Florida
  • 2:00 a.m. – Baseball at South Carolina
  • 4:00 a.m. – Women’s Soccer vs. Alabama
  • 6:00 a.m. – Men’s Basketball at Mississippi State
  • 8:00 a.m. – Gymnastics at Alabama
  • 9:30 a.m. – Softball vs. Alabama
  • 11:30 a.m. – Football at Louisville
  • 2:30 p.m. – Volleyball vs. Florida
  • 4:00 p.m. – “SEC Inside” – Football vs. Florida
  • 4:30 p.m. – Baseball vs. Vanderbilt
  • 7:30 p.m. – Gymnastics vs. Georgia
  • 9:00 p.m. – Football vs. Florida

Among the highlights are Kentucky’s 91-89 victory over Mississippi State in men’s basketball on February 27. Reed Sheppard hit a running jumper with less than a second remaining to give the Wildcats a clutch, late-season victory in Starkville.

In football, Kentucky’s 38-31 victory over No. 9 Louisville to win the Governor’s Cup trophy will also be featured. Ray Davis scored three touchdowns, including the eventual game-winner from 37 yards out with 1:02 to play to help the Wildcats pull off the upset.

That’s one of two Kentucky football games that will air. The Wildcats’ 33-14 victory over Florida on September 30 will close out the school’s ‘Takeover Day.’ Mark Stoops’ team got four touchdowns that day from Davis, who rushed for a career-high 280 yards. His 75-yard run from scrimmage gave Kentucky a 16-0 lead late in the first quarter.
