SEC media predictions: Where is Georgia?

SEC media made its picks at the SEC media days in Hoover, Alabama, last week.

Once again, Georgia was picked to win the SEC East with 124 votes out of 134 votes cast. Florida received seven votes and Kentucky two.

Alabama was picked to win the SEC West after receiving 130 first-place votes. Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas each received one vote.

For the SEC Championship, Alabama was selected to finish on top, but the Bulldogs received 45 votes to Bama’s 84.

While the selections didn’t surprise us, I think it’s worth noting just how dominant the league expects Alabama and Georgia to be. Both overwhelmingly outvoted their division rivals and are once again picked to meet in the league championship.

If things shake out right for the Bulldogs, the season will rest on whether or not Georgia can take the crown from the Crimson Tide on Dec. 4 in Atlanta.

For now, the Dawgs will prepare for the season opener against Clemson. Camp starts Aug. 6.
