The SEC has not been as top-heavy as it has been in years past. Nonetheless, programs like Georgia, Alabama, and LSU find themselves in a position to reach the SEC Championship game and possibly the College Football Playoff.
Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, and Ole Miss have made some noise as well but are likely out of playoff contention. Meanwhile, the likes of Auburn, Texas A&M, and South Carolina have underachieved by most expectations.
Mississippi State, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt have struggled to be competitive and have seemingly put themselves in jeopardy of not reaching a bowl game.
