SEC announces single-elimination format for the league’s baseball tournament.

The Southeastern Conference announced changes to its postseason baseball tournament.

Oklahoma and Texas will join the SEC for the 2025 baseball season, increasing the league to 16 teams.

All 16 teams will participate in a single-elimination SEC Tournament format beginning with the 2025 season. The future tournament format was approved by the SEC athletics directors.

Under the existing SEC Tournament format, the top 12 teams in the final 14-team regular-season standings participate in a hybrid single and double-elimination tournament over a six-day period.
