Seattle Seahawks C Nick Harris traded back to Cleveland

Nick Harris will rejoin his former team after signing with the Seahawks to join his former offensive line coach.

When former Washington Huskies center Nick Harris signed with the Seattle Seahawks, it felt like a homecoming. The former All-Pac-12 center got to come back to the city where he played college football, and got to rejoin the offensive line coach that helped him achieve those accolades, Scott Huff.

Now, Harris will experience another homecoming after being traded on Sunday from the Seahawks to the Cleveland Browns, who drafted him in round No. 5 of the 2020 NFL draft.

Over four seasons with the organization, Harris played in 40 games, starting 4 before leaving in free agency. The Seahawks accepted a 2026 sixth-round pick from the Browns in exchange for Harris and a 2026 seventh-rounder in the deal.

He was competing for a job to be Seattle’s starting center, but after the Seahawks signed former second-round pick Connor Williams, he appeared to be the odd man out.

Now in Cleveland, Harris may have a chance to win the starting center job from former Seahawks offensive lineman Ethan Pocic, but in all likelihood will act as the backup after Luke Wypler broke his ankle in the team’s first preseason game.

Harris might play a few different roles with the Browns, as coach Kevin Stefanski also deployed the offensive lineman as a fullback in front of running backs Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford at times in short yardage situations.
