Sean Payton trolled the Atlanta Falcons with his post-win retweet of Roddy White

Amazing.

When Drew Brees landed on injured reserve this past week due to a rib injury, the Saints were faced with a choice at quarterback.

They could have opted to start Jameis Winston — a more traditional quarterback who often blends a chaotic mix of awful interceptions and impressive touchdowns. Or … they could have started Taysom Hill — a gadget player who Sean Payton loves like his own child.

The Saints went with Hill for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. And despite some ugly throws here and there, Hill (plus help from the Saints defense) pretty much dominated the Falcons.

Well, let’s just say that Payton was paying attention to those criticizing the move to start Hill.

Following the 24-9 win over Atlanta, Payton retweeted a two-day-old tweet from former Falcons receiver Roddy White who was, uh, feeling pretty good about the Falcons’ chances against Hill.

Though most of Roddy White’s takes on Twitter are traditionally bad, you don’t expect to see an NFL head coach go all “Freezing Cold Takes” on us immediately after a game.

Rivalry games will do that, I guess.
