Sean McVay usually spends his Sundays on the sidelines at an NFL stadium, but this weekend will be an exception. That’s because the Los Angeles Rams beat the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night, giving players and coaches a more relaxing Sunday.
The Rams are on the doorstep of another NFC West title and they can actually clinch the division as early as Sunday despite being inactive. They just need at least two wins and a tie from five specific teams and the division will be theirs.
So will McVay be watching the games on Sunday? You bet he is. He answered that question with a perfectly sarcastic response during his postgame press conference.
Reporter: “Will you be watching scoreboards tomorrow?”
McVay: “No, I’m just going to put my head in the sand.”
He was joking, of course.
“What the hell kind of (question),” he said, eliciting a big laugh in the media room. “Yes, I’ll be watching tomorrow and see. If there’s a chance that we could win the division, I’m going to pay attention to that.”

McVay will be just like every Rams fan rooting for the Bills, Browns, Vikings, Commanders and maybe even the 49ers on Monday night. Maybe.
Let’s just hope the first four teams take care of business and prevent the Rams from having to cheer for the 49ers
